Journey to America: Pilgrims
On September 16, the pilgrims left their homeland, England, because their cruel
king was like a dictator to them. He would not let them have religious freedom . So
the pilgrims set up a plan to escape! They will leave England on a ship and travel until
they would hit land. They all knew it would be a difficult journey, but being free from
the king was worth it.It took them 65 days to get to the new area, North America.They
were so happy when they got there!

Adventures: Lewis & Clark
In 1804 two American militarry officers, Merriweather Lewis & William Clark were given an
assignment by president Thomas Jefferson, to explore th uncharted areas of the land known
as "the Louisiana Purchace," a massive stretch of 8,000 miles from St.Louis to the Western
Coastline. Lewis & Clark hoped to find a Northwest Passage which could link the Atlantic
Ocean and Pacific Ocean, but along the way they discovered the sources of some of America's
greatest beauty and wealth. They also found hardship, but surrvived thanks to the compassion
of trapper Toussaint Charbonneau and his wife Sacagawea, a Native American. Lewis & Clark
were presumed dead until they made their way back to civilization in 1806, with details of one of
the greatest adventures in American history.
